My rating: ★★★★☆ Synopsis (from Goodreads) In this follow-up to The Tattooist of Auschwitz, the author tells the story, based on a true one, of a woman who survives Auschwitz, only to find herself locked away again. I’m JHSiess and I founded Colloquium in 2005. But that was not the case for all, particularly those considered Nazi collaborators because of what they had to do to survive. Cilka is a beautiful girl and her beauty catches the eye of some of the guards at the camp, who decide to separate her from her fellow prisoners. She is separated from the other prisoners — singled out by a powerful Nazi officer — and learns quickly that power, even unwillingly surrendered, equals survival. My goal is at least 50.
